The Conference Hall of University of Pannonia's educational site in Nagykanizsa, in the Hungarian county Zala, was the site of the closing conference of the Regional Tourism Product Plan (RTPP) project that was held on 8 March. The date of the Conference was at the same time the last day of project implementation, which started with 9 March 2010.

The participants were welcomed by, among others, Dr. Zoltán Birkner, Head of the educational site of the Pannon Egyetem in Nagykanizsa; Nóra Bartha, programme manager of the Hungary-Croatia IPA CBC Programme within the Managing Authority; as well as Diána Rózsa, Head of the Hungary-Croatia Joint Technical Secretariat.
During the Conference the history of the elaboration of RTPP was presented, starting from the initial idea of the joint Task Force in 2006 until the closing day of the project, 8 March 2011. More than 120 participants of the Conference could hear presentations about tourism on both the Hungarian and Croatian side of the eligible area, as well as the outputs of the tourism product plan after one year of intensive work.
The Regional Tourism Product Plan project was jointly implemented by two Hungarian partners: Pannon Egyetem (University of Pannonia), educational site in Nagykanizsa as the Lead Beneficiary and Hungarian Academy of Sciences, regional centre Pécs; as well as two Croatian partners - Regional Development Agency of Slavonia and Baranja from Osijek and the Regional Development Agency of Town Čakovec.
After the project has finished, it will be further examined by the relevant Programme bodies and later on imbedded into the framework of the existing Programme level documents and so enable the launch of the Call for Proposals for other tourism actions within Area of intervention 1.2 (Sustainable Tourism in the Mura-Drava-Danube River Area). All the activities planned to be implemented have to be in line with the single common comprehensive product plan (Action 1.2.1 Elaboration of a regional tourism product plan) in order to receive funding from the Programme. The Call for Proposals is expected to be launched in the last quarter of 2011.
