Count-down to New Programme

Several versions of Hungary-Croatia Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2014-2020 have been presented to the public since the beginning of the programming process. The latest draft has been made public end of March 2015, just after the Programme’s submission to the European Commission for approval.

Since having been put in charge of the task of elaborating the programming document for the new programming period, the expert team has been working steadily on the analysis of all the relevant documentation and simultaneously with the stakeholders in the field, through interviews, surveys and thematic workshops. Reinforced by the inputs of the members of the Task Force representing the widest-most number of the region’s population and relevant public institutions, the experts came up with the first draft version of the Co-operation Programme in April 2014.
The draft document was made available to public and open for comments via the Programme’s website, with an additional input asked from a wide circle of relevant stakeholders during the public consultations held in Sopje (Virovitičko-podravska County, Croatia) on 7 May 2014. The inputs and comments gathered during the consultations, as well as additional inputs from several more Task Force meetings that followed, were incorporated into the almost final draft of the document published on the Programme’s website in December 2014.
The first months of 2015 have seen the document going through the procedures within the national public administration, prerequisite to the submission of the Co-operation Programme to the European Commission, which was managed in the second half of March 2015. The final approval of the Programme is expected after a round of formal and informal negotiations with the Commission, smoothing out the final open issues and ensuring a carefree implementation of the Programme within the following seven-year period.
