ECDay 2014

Joining the efforts to outdo last year’s almost 180 events in 32 countries and 145 cities, the Hungary-Croatia CBC Programme is taking part, for the third year in a row, in a Europe-wide campaign promoting the results of European Territorial Co-operation (ETC), with many European Co-operation Day events already announced on the Programme’s website.

Since 2012 and under the co-ordination of European Commission’s INTERACT programme a Europe-wide promotional campaign is organised each September in order to promote the projects realised within the programmes of ETC in order to improve their visibility, make them closer to the local communities and the general public, but also to share the best practices and good experiences among different programmes.
Supporting the initiative since its beginning, the Hungary-Croatia Cross-border Co-operation Programme is taking the opportunity to promote the results of the successfully implemented projects, by supporting all the Lead Beneficiaries in their activities during the ECD week.
The Lead Beneficiaries of several Third Call projects under implementation have already announced their plans for the ECD week, and we are happy to report that there are many interesting events to look forward to, including a cross-border cycling marathon, a culinary competition, a maiden voyage of a tourist train in a nature park and several project closing conferences. More information on the events is available in the Events Calendar on the Programme’s website, with more details to be made available on these and all the many events all over Europe on the European Co-operation Day  website as well.
This year, for the first time, all the local events will also get a special mention during the European Cooperation Day’s kick-off event in Milan on 16 September, under the auspices of the Italian EU presidency. The given event will be also an occasion to promote the best videos selected through a contest with the slogan ‘Border issues, border solutions’.

As another novelty in this year's ECDay, INTERACT, with the support of the European Commission, launched a video contest inviting European CBC/ETC programmes and projects and individual film-makers to share their videos highlighting the results and benefits of the co-operation in Europe. Anyone interested in participating can do so by submitting a video that represents co-operation between people in Europe. If you wish to participate you can upload your video on Vimeo or Youtube and then register it on until the end of 15 July 2014.
